Recently when writing about the Regal Cinema that used to be in High Street I referred to "a pleasant foyer”. Lo and behold, here is a picture of the very place from George Owen! Thank you, George.The film in the advertisement is ‘Wanted: Jane Turner’ which starred Gloria Stuart and Lee Tracy, an American comedy-drama about a mail robbery. The film was released in USA in December 1936 and the Regal Cinema wasn’t opened until the following year, so I would guess that the foyer picture is from late 1937 or early ’38.
